‘Life is a Game’
Solo show
Art Concierge- Avenue Gallery, Marousi, Athens, Greece
Life is a Game marks Salome Economides’ first solo exhibition—a bold and intellectually body of work that critiques modern consumerism and the illusion of autonomy in contemporary life. This exhibition unveils a series of paintings that explore how everyday objects—often overlooked—can reflect deeper societal manipulations and psychological constructs.

In this series, Salome dismantles the illusion of free will by juxtaposing childhood innocence with the mechanisms of control embedded in consumer culture. Toys, delivery boxes, luxury goods, and mass-produced items become symbolic players in a larger, orchestrated game. Her work interrogates how society conditions us from a young age to believe we are making independent choices—when, in fact, we are playing roles in a system designed to benefit from our illusions.

Life is a Game challenges viewers to confront the roles they play in the consumerist machine. It asks us to consider whether we are truly autonomous—or simply players in a game whose rules have been written for us. In Salome’s world, denial is the most dangerous move. The only losing play is pretending not to participate. Through her works of bold acrylic colors , she investigates the concept of intellectual cacophony, by bringing to life a visual symphony of forms, and symbolic imagery.
